In collaboration with the Department of Primary Education (DPE), Government of Bangladesh and the World Food Programme of the UN, POPI has been supporting the children of poverty prone areas to increase their attendance in school as well as to improve their nutrition status by supplying High Energy Biscuits to the students of 750 Government Primary Schools and Ebtadaiye Madrasas round the year. The programme currently is being implemented in Fulbaria , Gouripur and and Haluaghat Upazillas under Mymensingh and Kalmakanda Upazilla of Netrokona district.
The main purposes of the program include:
- To increase enrolment and attendance in 750 primary schools and madrashas of above stated 4 Upazillas.
- To contribute in improving nutrition status of student attending in above schools and madrasas
- To contribute in the enhancement of capacities of relevant education officials, teachers and School Management Committees (SMCs).
